The Chimbu people are an indigenous group living in the Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea.
They traditionally use charcoal as a form of body decoration and paint. Charcoal is made by burning wood until it turns into a fine, black powder. This powder is then mixed with water or other natural substances to create a paste that can be applied to the skin.
