The Bakhtiari people are an Iranian ethnic group primarily inhabiting the southwestern part of Iran, particularly in the provinces of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Khuzestan, and Isfahan.
The Bakhtiari are historically known as a nomadic and pastoralist people, traditionally relying on herding and seasonal migration for their livelihood.
In addition to their traditional nomadic lifestyle, many Bakhtiari people have also settled in urban areas, adopting a more sedentary way of life. Over time, some have become involved in various professions, including agriculture, trade, and government services.
The Bakhtiari have their own dialect of the Lurish language, which is an Iranian language spoken by various ethnic groups in Iran, including the Lurs and Bakhtiari.
